Students will examine global and local strategies for managing tourism in a way that minimizes negative impacts and maximizes benefits for communities and ecosystems. Topics include eco-tourism, community-based tourism, conservation practices, policy frameworks, and sustainable destination management. Case studies and fieldwork will be used to analyze real-world applications and challenges in implementing sustainable tourism practices.
